Archive for the ‘Thrifting’ Category

After swimming today I went to Target. I haven’t been there in a very long time just because I usually shop at the local shops but I was in desperate need of a swim cap. My hair is way too long not to use one. Anyway, while I was there I saw these really cute shirts with Mr. Happy on them for babies and they were made in the USA (I know that doesn’t guarantee a fair wage). They were super cute. Then I started looking around for other things I could get for my very cute nephew. I couldn’t believe how expensive all the plastic crap for babies is. I ended not getting anything for him at Target- I just can’t bring myself to shop there or buy plastic. I guess that’s good thing. But I am sending him Old Turtle, Frog and Toad, and The Bee Tree.

After seeing the expensive stuff there, I’m so happy that I love thrift stores. I have a collection of baby blankets now (I know I’m crazy and I don’t actually have a baby). San Juan loves the yellow, turquoise and white zig-zag one. I should probably buy less stuff but they’re all hand-knitted and the first one I ever bought was 50 cents. I think when I actually have children most of their stuff will be thrifted, I mean, they grow so darn fast. I also have a Pyrex obsession.

I also don’t have enough space in my kitchen for yrex. I actually have it piled up everywhere. I have three sets of Pyrex nesting bowl not pictured too.
